As an author

Sara Schonfeld is a senior editor at HarperCollins Children’s who lives, works, and searches for love in New York City. Sometimes recognized as "that girl from Twitter who can't get a date," she entertains over 20k followers with stories of failed meet-cutes, unlucky dates, embarrassing faux pas, and awkward breakups that have received millions of views. Those stories inspired her to write FALLING IN LUCK, her first novel. She lives in New York City, with her very own book boyfriend.

As an editor

Sara Schonfeld is a senior editor on the HarperCollins children’s imprint, working on middle grade and teen. After starting her publishing career at Penguin Random House, she joined HarperCollins in 2019. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Summa Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa with a dual major in English and Hispanic Studies and a minor in creative writing, including courses in children's literature, copyediting, and screenwriting. When she’s not reading (which is what she does most of the time!) she loves watching anything Marvel, kickboxing, or baking.

An author herself, Sara has an editorial style all about expressing the author's intentions and helping readers understand and access that vision. Her process is grounded in asking questions, and she enjoys working from editorial letters to margin comments down to line-edits.
